Sweden strikes again - the first single from the Shout Out Louds' latest album, Work. Earlier this year I went to an Irving Penn exhibition at the Getty Center (with Super Music Friend Jeff H). Some of his best known photographs, dating from the 1950's, are those of skilled tradespeople dressed in their work clothes and carrying the tools of their trade. Right after I went to his exhibition, the new Shout Out Louds album came out with the above photo on the cover. Me thinks Mr. Penn may have had some influence on these Swedes. Look at that! Driftwood aims to broaden not just your musical horizons!
The Super Music Friends and I will be catching Shout Out Louds this Friday at the El Rey. Unfortunately it's a sold out show, but tickets are still available here for their Thursday night show.
