I first saw a fresh-faced Jesca Hoop about 8 years ago in a small bar in Santa Monica (Temple Bar?). Technical difficulties and perhaps a case of nerves left her in tears during her set. It's great to see her flourishing years later. A former nanny for Tom Waits' kids and touring partner of the likes of Elbow and Andrew Bird, Jesca is set to release her new album The House That Jack Built. Here's the first single.
