Canadian duo Purity Ring has made quite a statement with their debut album, Shrines. To quote a recent Pitchfork review, "the dubbed-out retro-futuristic approach to sound, the male/female duo, the connection to the earlier iterations of indie pop...the compulsively listenable Shrines stands quite well." I sure haven't been able to stop listening. They'll be in LA on Sept 1 for FYF Fest.
