My first CD was Yaz "Upstairs At Eric's". My first concert was Depeche Mode w/ OMD. Synth-pop is in my blood. So when a new band like CHVRCHES comes around with their synth sounds, electro beats, and enthralling new voice, I'm easily hooked. If M83 and Purity Ring had a Scottish love child, CHVRCHES might be it. Their debut album is due out later this year, but you can catch them live June 1st at the Troubadour.
