One of my favorite acts at Coachella last year, Australian Courtney Barnett, is finally ready to release her proper debut album, Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometime I Just Sit, on March 24. The video for the first new song off the album features the saddest clown you'll ever meet soundtracked by an unrelenting barrage of power chords and fuzzy riffs - an energy that drew me in when I first witnessed her playing live under a tent in the desert. Tickets for her North American tour go on sale tomorrow with a local date at The Roxy on May 30.

Avant Gardener by Courtney Barnett [2014]
Hailing from the land down under, Courtney Barnett brings us a bounty of singles and EPs bursting with a rambling garage pop sound that first reminded me a bit of Foxygen. The Australian singer was recently named as one of the top 10 discoveries at last year's CMJ by Rolling Stone. Courtney comes our way Sunday, Feb 23 at the Bootleg Theater ($12 tickets)
