The Righteous One by THE ORWELLS [2014]

As a big fan of the Chicago band's 2012 single 'Mallrats (la la la)' - cuz who doesn't love a good 'lalala' - I was happy to hear that the young lads of The Orwells are back with more frenzied, melodic indie-rock.  Fun Fact:  At a recent London gig, lead singer Mario Cuomo declared that "Blur and Oasis ain't shit compared to the Gorillaz" after the band covered the Gorillaz 'Clint Eastwood' (as well as The Foundations' 'Build Me Up Buttercup' and The Stooges' 'I Wanna Be Your Dog').  Their upcoming, major-label debut, Disgraceland, will be out this June.  In the meantime, you can grab the "Other Voices" EP for FREE at http://theorwells.com/othervoices
