History Lessons by ALLO DARLIN'
Australian/English indie-pop quartet Allo Darlin' recently released one of my favorite albums of 2014, the excellent We Come From The Same Place. Echoing the jangle and melody of bands like Camera Obscura and Frente!, Allo Darlin' will be in LA this Thursday at the Echo. "History Lessons" is a standout, contemplative track that front-woman Elizabeth Morris recently described to Stereogum as being a romantic song "about how relationships are really hard to get over...old photographs and things from past relationships, places where you used to go with someone else, and now you’re trying to see that place in a new way." Give them a listen.
