There were many highlights from this past weekend's Burger A-Go-Go festival showcasing some of the best female punk/indie bands flying under (or slightly on) the mainstream's radar - bands like La Sera, Dum Dum Girls, Best Coast, Shannon and the Clams, The Muffs…- and one of the best sets was delivered by LA's Bleached. Sisters Jessie and Jennifer Clavin blistered through a slew of songs that mixed classic punk energy with melodic rock hooks, like a modern day Go-Go's. They'll be opening for Haim tonight and tomorrow at the Wiltern, undoubtedly winning over more fans as they did me.
