In almost a month, Team Driftwood will be heading back to the wonderful town of Reykjavik for the 2013 Iceland Airwaves festival. This years lineup includes the likes of Kraftwerk, Yo La Tengo, Savages and a long list of up and coming bands from Iceland, the US and all over the world. Leading up to the start of the festival we hope to introduce you to some new bands that we are excited about seeing for the first time.
To start, let's both get introduced to ON AN ON. The trio from Chicago and Minneapolis, who just played dates on the West coast last week, have played support for a few Driftwood favorites like The Joy Formidable and Junip, as well as Geographer. Fittingly, the guys recently put out a cover of Björks's Unison. Hopefully they'll try it out live in front of her hometown crowd when they play at beautiful Harpa (Norðurljós) on Nov. 2 @10:40p.
